ZR 18 DD is a state-of-the-art Hand-Crafted, direct-drive mid-woofer. It is probably the best known speaker from ZR Speaker Lab since 2004, when it was introduced for the first time. Direct drive without crossover enables the speaker to operate without phase-shifts, and with maximum dynamic combined with the live sound-stage.

All components of the speaker are chosen to be in tune with each other, giving the sound that is impossible to get with any-other speaker. The main components are light-weight cone, resonance free basket, optimum power of the motor, quick and precise voice- coil and specially chosen spider. It effortlessly follows the amplitudes of the amplifier, which results in transparent sound with extraordinary dynamic in full range of the speaker.

Paper has been used for decades as the best material for the cones. It has that special, natural sound that the new materials just cannot produce. Immense research has been invested into maintaining the sound of the "old school" paper cone, while simultaneously eliminating all of its weaknesses such as parasitic resonances etc. To achieve this, the cone is impregnated with two different mineral coatings, specially developed by ZR Speaker Lab just for this speaker. This gives the soul to the speaker and the sound that no other speaker on the market can match.

The voice of the vocalist can be heard in front of you naturally and purely. You can easily hear how the singer breaths, and from the details of his or her voice you can feel what he or she feels. All instruments sounds completely natural and the richness of the sound is sensational. Time delay of the concert hall slowly expands in your room, transforming it into a concert hall.
