The copper ring is specially modified by ZR Speaker Lab to be in harmony with our speakers. It makes the magnetic field in "air gap" more linear. This eliminates distortions which are present especially at higher output levels. It also reduces the inductance of the voice-coil, which widens the frequency range of the speaker.
